Friend Friday + Homemade Playdough

Today, I decided to "up my game" and looked up recipes for homemade playdough to make during Friend Friday. I hit up the dollar store and found lots of different flavors (colors) of drink mix and these perfect little containers for the children to store their playdough in.

Here is the recipe I used:

2 packets (I would use more for a deeper color) of drink mix packets

1 cup of flour

1/4 cup of salt

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3/4 cup of water

*Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Put bowl in microwave for 50 seconds. Let cool for about 1 minute. Dust table with flour and knead dough by hand for a couple minutes until well mixed and at desirable texture/consistency. Add more flour if too sticky. Add more oil if crumbly and dry. :)

We formed the dough into logs and cut them in equal pieces to place into individual containers, so each child got one of every color.

And then the moment everyone had been waiting for- playtime.

Besides flour in every nook and cranny and a layer of dried dough covering my table...I'd do it again. Really! Such a fun afternoon with these darling children. #childhoodmemories

Have a great weekend, y'all!
