Friend Friday + Kid Valentine Craft
Our weekdays are filled to the brim! After the children get home from school, it's a mix of homework, reading, taekwondo, family dinner, shower, teeth, family study, prayer, and off to bed. Busy afternoons and evenings don't allow a lot of friend time, so we implemented Friend Fridays. The children get out of school early on Friday, so when they come home, we pull out a couple bags of candy, invite their friends over, and play games, dance, run around, and have a jolly ol' time.
Since it's Valentine's Day next week, I thought it might be fun to add a craft into the afternoon's activities. (Shout out to Michaels for the idea!) These turned out to be so fun and so incredibly easy! Everything you need can be found at your local dollar store (or Michaels):
-Medium foam (or even cardboard) heart cutouts x1
-Small foam (or cardboard) heart cutouts x2
-Wiggly eyes x2
-Pipe cleaner (cut about 3'' in length, then bend into a "V" shape)
-Large fuzzies x1
-Small strips of paper to write a Valentine message x1
-Hot glue gun and scissors (We tried Elmer's glue. It just didn't cut it.)
These are perfect for a Valentines Day class party or as darling little valentines to hand out! Simple. Quick. Cute.
The rest of the afternoon included playing dress up, house, doggies & unicorns, and Pretty, Pretty Princess. Also, LOTS of consumption of Hershey kisses and Skittles. I call that a recipe for one perfect Friend Friday.
Here's to a great weekend!
