Sick Day

Brandon takes the children to school in the mornings on his way into the office. This morning I got a call that one boy had thrown up in the car right before being dropped off. Poor Finn waddled over to me when I greeted them in the garage. He was still a bit covered in said throw up and so sad. I stripped him down (in the garage) and put him in the shower, while Brandon cleaned up the car. At one point, I looked up and saw this:

Everything you need to clean vomit out of the car door speakers. I mean, c'mon ladies- is there anything sexier than your man suiting up for something so incredibly disgusting? #seriously #dadrules (Sidenote: I don't do well with puke. Give me all the pee, poop, or even blood. As far as barf goes, if I see it, smell it, or have to touch it...it's a race to get things cleaned up before the gagging results in me vomiting myself. And Brandon finds it absolutely hilarious. It's a whole routine with us and one day we're gonna make millions off of the video he inevitably takes of me, because it's quite the show.)

Later in the afternoon, Finn started feeling better and asked if he could draw. He sat at the table while I ran around picking up, doing the dishes, and switching the laundry. When I finally stopped to see what he had created, I saw this:

When I asked him about it, he informed me it was a cover for the book he wanted to write called "The Sick People". Bless this boy. And bless his brilliant and creative little brain.

Tonight, we laid the children in their beds, kissed their heads, and wished them sweet dreams. For this darling boy, I hope tomorrow is a lot better!
